Agilitas Energy starts work on stand-alone battery energy storage system – pv magazine USA

Agilitas Vitality is beginning pre-construction work on what is anticipated to be the most important stand-alone battery vitality storage undertaking in Rhode Island, a 3 MW/9 MWh lithium-ion system in Pascoag.

The undertaking will present peak shaving providers to the Pascoag Utility District and ancillary providers to ISO-New England. It’s the first battery vitality storage system to be constructed by Agilitas in Rhode Island, and is deliberate to enter service by Q2 2022.

The undertaking is being constructed to assist Gov. Gina Raimondo’s 2020 govt order committing the state to assembly all of its electrical energy demand with renewables and non-fossil gas sources by 2030.

Apart from supporting the state’s renewable objectives, the undertaking is being constructed to keep away from the extra pricey re-construction of present transmission strains within the space.

With this undertaking, Agilitas is now developing over 40 MW of photo voltaic and over 70 MWh of vitality storage tasks in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York.
